Featured Project: Belmont

We "got a good feeling from Michelle C. after dropping in unannounced one day. Knew you were the right company for us." This is the reaction that clients Ed and Amy had after visiting our showroom to begin the planning process for the kitchen of their new home. Ed and Amy lived locally, but had just bought a charming antique home in Belmont. Their new kitchen however, was extremely dated and only barely functioning when they moved in, so a beautiful, highly functional new kitchen was a priority for their family. Since they both enjoy cooking, a well designed kitchen, where they could work together comfortably, was essential.

The kitchen was small, with some challenging angles, common to older homes. We looked at various layout ideas, and came up with creative solutions to make the best use of all available space. Designing in Signature Custom Cabinetry, we replaced a shallow corner closet that wasted space, with a tall cabinet incorporating shelves to display cookbooks over a built in microwave and closed in storage below. We then transitioned the depth of the cabinetry out to accommodate the main cooking center with a professional gas range and stainless steel hood. We included a unique custom detail: a wall cabinet featuring a side entry door that hides outlets for cell phone chargers, keys, and for Ed and Amy, chargers for their dogs' invisible fence collars. We replaced the old sink window with a smaller window that, by eliminating a wide center divider, actually provides more light and a better view to the backyard where their daughter and dogs love to play. By focusing on their priorities and working together through all of the details, we created a beautiful, well-designed, working kitchen that blends seamlessly with the style of their new, ‘old' home.
